Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield's mission is
simple: to continuously help to improve the health of
its customers by providing access to a broad array of
high-value health benefit products and services. In
order to achieve that goal, Wellmark is focused on
becoming an "employer of choice," providing its
employees with state-of-the-art facilities in which to
work, and ultimately serve its customers. Wellmark's
new corporate offices at Two Ruan Center have assisted
in realizing these goals with the assistance of Brooks,
Borg, Skiles Architecture and WorkSpace Inc.
SPACE CHALLENGES
Wellmark's remodeled facilities in Two Ruan Center
provide a new corporate environment with an emphasis
on improved technology and greater flexibility, improved
corporate image, and increased employee productivity
and morale for its 1,300 Des Moines employees.
SOLUTIONS
WorkSpace Inc teamed with Brooks, Borg, Skiles
Architecture and Wellmark's facilities staff to evaluate
and analyze Wellmark's organizational goals and
values. With this information, the design team
promoted a new corporate culture and team
environment.
RESULTS
Wellmark’s redesigned facility encourages team
interaction and increased productivity. As the company
changes and grows, the spatial arrangements of the
workstations provide the flexibility necessary to facilitate
